Nicholas Welliver has been in the landscape industry for over 20 years. He has successfully completed over $75 million of landscape projects throughout his career. Working for companies ranging from small family-owned businesses, to national corporations, Nicholas Welliver has been trained in all aspects of the landscape industry.

Nicholas’s landscape career began in Washington, DC with Johnson’s Landscapes; a leader in the Washington, DC market.  From Washington, DC he moved to Hilton Head to help his mother Marianne Welliver (Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects), operate LandCare South, Inc. (LCS).  Throughout his tenure at LandCare South he worked his way up through the company from a Crewman to eventually managing the business as Operations/Commercial Sales Manager and being a member of the board of directors.

Michael Roth

— Controller

Bachelor of Science, Robert Morris University

Michael was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where he attended Robert Morris University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in accounting.  He then spent 5 years at a public accounting firm working on both tax and audits of construction and real estate companies.   

Using that knowledge, Michael spent the next 10 years working in the private / small business sector of those same industries.  He was able to combine the day-to-day accounting responsibilities with the tax strategies he had learned on the public side.  Michael joined the Hilton Head Landscapes team in the summer of 2020 after moving to Bluffton, South Carolina to escape the bitter cold winters. He has been instrumental in organizing our accounting  processes. He has greatly improved our office management organization and accountability.  His responsibilities at HHL include but are not limited to daily accounting, client invoicing, assistance with estimating and keeping the office running smoothly.  In his free time, Michael enjoys taking hikes and 

enjoying the water with his girlfriend, Kyrstin, and English Cream Golden Retriever, Saylor.

Evan Hernandez

— maintenance division manager

Bachelor of Science in Agricultural, Penn State University

Evan Hernandez has lived in 10 different states from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Rochester, New York.  Enjoying the outdoors and being an avid Big Ten Football fan. He attended Penn State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Sciences in 2019. Out of college he worked for Textron: EZGO/Cushman/Jacobsen as an SDP/Sales Analyst for North America based out of August, Georgia. He managed $40 Million dollars worth of  equipment/territory for a year and half before moving on during the Covid-19 Pandemic. He eventually made his way to Hilton Head Island where he began working for the Construction/Enhancement side of Hilton Head Landscapes. After 6 months he was promoted to run the Residential and Commercial Maintenance for the company. He is passionate about his team, the  landscapes he has been entrusted to maintain, and continuing the excellence of Hilton Head Landscapes."   

Logan Heisler

— Enhancement Manager

Logan is a Hilton Head Island native and well known in the community. He has learned the landscaping industry thanks to his family connections. Logan has been in nurseries his whole life. He takes great pride in the work that he does and is always willing to do what right for the client. Logan enjoys growing flowers and putting the time, patience, knowledge, care and attention to make them successful. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to the golf course, and of course the beach. Logan is glad he is part of the Hilton Head Landscapes family. 

Kenny Barry

— construction division manager

Kenny’s career in the horticultural industry began in 2011 when he had the opportunity to help start a lawn care maintenance company in Long Island NY.  Gaining experience and a respect for landscape work he shifted his focus to learning more about landscape construction, design and installation. 



For many years he worked on some of Long Island's most premier properties ranging in services from construction to plant and tree healthcare. 

In 2019 Kenny and his wife moved from NY to SC to start a family and enjoy the Carolina lifestyle.  Since then he has managed numerous landscape construction projects throughout Bluffton and Hilton Head. 

Kenny started at Hilton Head Landscapes in early 2024 and hopes to bring a level of dedication and experience that will be highlighted on all future construction projects.

Luke Mathews

— horticultural manager

Luke has been a spray technician for 10 years.

Being a Hilton Head Island Native he is loved by all of his clients. He is very honest, trustworthy and will go above and beyond to make people happy.

He loves helping, spending time with his family or doing things around our beautiful island.

In his spare time he enjoys, attending automobile races of different kinds, camping and enjoying the outside, riding his dirt bike adventuring new places and taking his pup to the beach.

He is happy to be part of the HHL team.
